Getting started
We ran this competition over the Christmas holidays 2005.
People who took part said it was fun, and a good way of exploring the village. So the quiz remains here for you to try at any time. You just have to be very strongwilled and try to not look at the answers.
What you have to do
There are 19 pictures and one question. All you have to do is identify the square on the map of Harwell village where each photograph was taken from, or in the case of the question the square on the map where they can be found. For example of you think photo number 1 was taken at the junction of Wantage Road and Westfield then ‘L5’ is your answer.
If the location is close to a boundary then alternatives will be accepted. They are all to be found adjacent to the roads and footpaths or in the open spaces shown green. Mostly they were taken from close to the object, so the position of the object will do. But a few were obviously taken from some distance so it is the photographer’s position that is required.
