POPPY APPEAL
The annual house to house, business and street collections are now taking place until Remembrance Sunday 13th November.
ARMISTICE DAY FRIDAY 11th NOVEMBER 2011
A short ceremony will be held at the War Memorial in the High Street at 11:00am. This will include the two minutes silence and the Standard will be dipped. All are welcome.
REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY 13th NOVEMBER 2011
Remembrance Sunday is always the second Sunday in November. Legion Members and youth groups parade from Townsend to a service at the War Memorial in the High Street. The parade then moves off to a further Service in St Mathews Church. This is followed by a short ceremony at the War Graves in Harwell Cemetery. All are welcome to attend.
2011 ARRANGEMENTS:
10:30 am Parade forms up at Townsend adjacent to “The Hart of Harwell” 10:40 am Parade marches off to War Memorial in High Street
10:45 am Service at War Memorial
The parade marches to St. Matthews Church, Church Lane after the War Memorial service.
11:00 am Service in St. Matthew’s Church
RBL Members march to Harwell Cemetery after the Church Service
Ceremony at War Graves in Harwell Cemetery.
The Parade will include Legion Members, Didcot Air Training Corps, Harwell Scout Group and Girl Guiding Harwell.
