OCC is seeking views on the proposal to introduce a 40mph speed limit on Milton Road, from the extended 30mph Sutton Courtenay speed limit on Harwell Road/Sutton Courtenay Road through the Didcot parish boundary and up to the Basil Hill roundabout junction with the A4130. This proposal is being put forward in order to facilitate the proposed Science Vale Cycling Network route 6a (Milton Road).
OCC has advertised the proposed Traffic Regulation Orders in the Oxfordshire Herald on 21st June 2017 & in the Oxford Times on 22nd June 2017. The orders are also available on the Council’s consultation pages
OCC’s Public Notice, Statement of Reasons, Plans of the proposals, and Draft Traffic Regulation Orders are available on the above consultation page.
Also, following on from an earlier consultation in 2015 and the resulting expiration of the 2 year period from which this was undertaken, Oxfordshire County Council is again proposing a number of speed limit amendments (with no change from the previous consultation) in the Harwell and Didcot area as part of the Harwell Link Road & Chilton Interchange schemes, these include the following proposals: a) the introduction of a 50mph limit on the new Harwell Link road (under construction with new roundabouts at either end) between the B4493 Didcot Road to the A417 Reading Road, and b) to introduce a 30mph speed limit on the B4493 Harwell to Didcot Road, removing the existing 40mph limit so as to provide a continuous 30mph limit between the towns.
Any objections or other representations on the proposal should be submitted by Friday 21st July 2017.
