PC Comments Council objects to this application on the following grounds; concerns about amount of extra traffic which will be created on Orchard Way two-storey homes would not be in keeping with the adjacent properties which are bungalows, and the development would change the character of the immediate area, having a detrimental effect on the locality. The height of the proposed buildings would have a severe visual impact on the current rural character of the site, bordering the recreation ground. The council asks also that neighbours' comments are taken into consideration. no formal request has yet been made to the council regarding a possible permanent access onto the recreation ground at the boundary of the development, although Feltham Construction has approached the council informally. Any permanent access from the development would constrain the types of use of the recreation ground in that section (eg if the council wished to install new play/sports equipment there)
