Mining bees nesting in the recreation ground play area
Visitors to the recreation ground should be aware that there are nesting mining bees on the mounds in the play area. These are solitary bees which don’t form swarms and are not aggressive. They can sting, albeit very rarely, and anyone who is worried or is allergic to bee stings should avoid the location. The bees should disappear in a few weeks. For more advice, please see information on the Bumblebee Conservation Trust website.
