A34 closure Harwell-Milton
Kier Highways, on behalf of Highways England, will be resurfacing a section of the A34 northbound carriageway near Harwell, to ensure the network remains in a safe condition for road users. Work will also involve reinstatement of road markings, studs and communications sensors within the carriageway.
Work is currently scheduled to start on Thursday 1 February 2018 and is expected to be completed by Wednesday 14 February 2018.
In order to carry out the work as efficiently and safely as possible, Kier will need to close fully the A34 northbound carriageway from the A4185 Chilton Interchange to the A4130 Milton Interchange overnight, between 9pm and 6am, when traffic flows are at their lowest.
In addition, at the end of the scheme Kier will need to close fully the A34 southbound carriageway from the A4130 Milton Interchange to the A4185 Chilton Interchange overnight. This closure is to reconnect the communication sensors within the southbound carriageway.
During the closures a clearly signed diversion will be in place via Newbury Road and Abingdon Road.
Please be aware that these works have been carefully programmed but are subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances – please check the yellow signs placed in advance alongside the A34 for confirmation of the closures dates/timings.
Kier would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience or disruption caused during our work; if you have any questions, or if you’d like you know about our work please contact Kier on 0300 123 5000 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
