Update from parish council
The parish council receives various requests for traffic calming measures in Harwell, and has had discussions with OCC about what is or is not possible or suitable. The council has already submitted requests for some traffic calming measures, to be funded by developers of Great Western Park, and is waiting to hear what has been agreed between developers and OCC. In addition, the council has been obtaining traffic data around the parish since last autumn with the kind assistance of volunteers. Monitoring is done using a Truvelo monitor supplied and installed by Great Western Park Residents’ Association, and it is hoped that relevant data will be available at the Annual Parish Meeting on 23rd April, and that this data will help to finalise ideas about what types of traffic calming will be most suitable in the parish. Recently some residents from Reading Road undertook a survey door-to-door and presented their results at the council meeting last night – the presentation is available below.
